We left Den Bosch on on Saturday 13th July and travelled on the Zuid Willemsvart kanal . Having overnighted at sluis Helmond on route we arrived in Massbrach on Sunday where we stayed until  Tuesday.Massbrach is a large inland port in Holland and the quaysides are full of massive barges.

On Tuesday we travelled to Maastricht which is the southernmost city in Holland .We travelled through the biggest locks we have seen with  a drop of 9 meters at the first and a rise of 11meters at each of the others .Having spent two nights in Maastricht we set out this morning to enter Belgium and the river Meuse. The locks continue to be massive and the vessels travelling are up to 4000 tons. We have reached the town of Huy and tomorrow continue our journey.
