Winter 2014/15
Because the weather was pretty poor we returned to Roanne sooner than we intended at the end of September. In any event we had planned to return to Ireland for longer this winter as we had some affairs to take care of.
After settling down in Roanne port we re-acquainted ourselves with the other port dwellers as well as some new ones. The first social event was Gerry,s surprise birthday party. Pete from barge Rook did some very subtle
organizing and arrived with most of our neighbors complete with birthday cake . It was a very nice surprise although nowadays I try not to count which birthday it is.

Next social event was the Port welcoming party. This was held in the Captainerie and was
a very successful event. The food was provided by Jeremy from the Authentic where we meet every Thursday evening for drinks. The chef,s were provided by the port residents. A very enjoyable night !!!!

We returned to Ireland mid November and were glad to see many of our friends from
the boating community again.
the boating community again.
At the end of November we did our annual trip with The Heritage Boat Association. This year the trip was to Prague .Again the trip was a huge success with excellent restaurant in the evening with plenty of sightseeing during the day.We even got a boat trip .
Before our return to Roanne we visited the Titanic Quarter in Belfast. This is an amazing development and is concrete proof of how far the City has come from the troubles.
We are back again in Roanne and looking forward to the cruising season beginning.
